The meaning of rose colours

Posted by The Florist on

The colour of a rose says a great deal before a single word is spoken. These are the most common meanings.

Red roses

Love and passion. The classic choice for Valentine's Day, relationship anniversaries and marriage proposals. Shop red roses

White roses

Purity, respect and gratitude. A popular choice for saying thank you, for new babies and for weddings. Shop white roses

Pink roses

Affection, admiration and tenderness. The perfect gift for mothers, friends and birthdays. Shop pink roses

Yellow roses

Friendship, joy and positive energy. For offering congratulations or wishing someone luck. Shop yellow roses

Salmon roses

Enthusiasm and admiration, in a soft shade between pink and peach. Shop salmon roses

Blue roses

The rare and the unexpected. They do not occur in nature in this colour, which is why they symbolise all that is unique. Shop blue roses

Black roses

Mystery, elegance and a strong personality. A sophisticated and distinctive gift. Shop black roses

A tip

If in doubt, the recipient's favourite colour is worth more than any meaning.
